Use this workflow to establish staffing guidelines for hotel positions based on occupancy, revenue, or other business drivers.
Before you begin...
- Requires Edit Labor Standards permissions.
- Must be logged into the Web Portal.
- Identify the metric you want to use (e.g., Minutes Per Room or Fixed Hours).
The Steps

Navigate to Labor Plans > Edit Labor Standards.
- Select your hotel from the dropdown list.

Choose your creation method:
- Click Copy from Template/Existing Hotel to mirror another property's standards.
- Click Convert Annual Budgets to generate standards from existing financial totals.
- Click Add or View/Edit next to a specific position to create a manual standard.
- Set the Standard Hours by choosing a Plan Type (Fixed, Variable, or Tiered).
- If using Variable, select your Business Driver (e.g., Rooms Sold).
- Enter the Standard Wage per Hour or click Fill in the Plan Wage with the Current Average Wage.
- Set the Start Date. (Note: Leave End Date blank unless the standard is seasonal).
- Click Save Now.
The Result
Success: The position will display the new standard in the Labor Standards Editor. The system will now generate Plan Hours for this position based on daily operational data.
Troubleshooting
If this fails...
- If a position is missing from the list, you must first add it under Settings > Position Setup.
If the Add or Edit links are missing, verify your user permissions with your Account Administrator.
