Use this workflow to send secure text-like messages to individual coworkers or groups for quick operational coordination.
Before you begin...
- Requires "Can Access Team Messaging" permissions.
- Employees must have an active MyHotelTeam account to send or receive messages.
1. Access Chat
- Web: Click the Message icon (speech bubble) in the top right corner of any page.
- Mobile: Tap Messages on the app's main menu.
2. Start a Conversation
- Select Start a Chat (or the + icon).
- Select Recipients: Search for and select the employees or managers you wish to message. (Max 100 recipients for group chats).
- Compose: Type your message in the text box.
- Click Send.
3. Manage Notifications
- Web: An orange dot on the message icon indicates unread messages.
Mobile: Ensure Push Notifications are enabled on your device settings to receive alerts when the app is closed.
The Result Success: The message is sent instantly. Recipients receive a push notification (if enabled) and can reply to the thread.
If this fails...
• Note: If you cannot find a specific employee in the recipient list, ask your Administrator to check if "Enable chats between employees and managers" is turned on in MyHotelTeam Settings.
