Overview
Labor Plans, or Standards, should be considered "a recipe for how to staff every position in a hotel". They are staffing guidelines used to maximize labor efficiency while not compromising financial goals or service levels. All Labor Standards include one of more key Labor Standard components, such as job positions at the hotel and business drivers associated with the position. Labor Plans are the key to achieving the goal of getting every front line manager making the right decisions about labor costs.
Creating labor standards can be an intimidating task to align with hotel needs and also budget and owner expectations. Hotel Effectiveness gives you the ability to copy labor plans by hotel, position and month from the hotel’s budget in ProfitSword, directly into Hotel Effectiveness, ensuring alignment between budget and the plans that help guide execution of those goals.
How it Works
Budgeted labor from ProfitSword can be copied on demand to Hotel Effectiveness Labor Plans by hotel/position/month.
Follow the steps below to copy Labor Plans from ProfitSword to Hotel Effectiveness:
- Select Labor Plans from the modules on the left hand side.
-
Select Copy ProfitSword Labor Standards from the links within the Labor Standards Editor
-
- Users will select the hotel and date range they wish to import from ProfitSword, then select Apply.
- ProfitSword labor budget for all positions from the selected hotel/date range will be pulled in and converted into Hotel Effectiveness Labor Standards for the user to preview.
- Select all Labor Plans by checking the checkbox next to the Staff Overview for each of the departments or select individual Labor Plans by selecting the checkbox next to the Labor Plan for the items to be copied.
- Next select Review to copy the Labor Plans then select Copy from ProfitSword.
- Once the copy has been complete, any existing Hotel Effectiveness labor plans for the selected positions/date range will be end dated in order for labor plans not to be overstated.
- Administrators may make changes to Labor Plans in Hotel Effectiveness if desired after the copy.
Any unmapped position, or any position that has a budget tied to an unmapped driver cannot be imported. It will be listed in a separate section of the labor plan copier page, explaining why it could not be imported.
Requirements
In order for ProfitSword Labor Budget to be copied into Hotel Effectiveness, both the positions and the drivers must be mapped between both systems.
- Positions are mapped within ProfitSword
- Drivers are mapped within Hotel Effectiveness in the 3rd Party Revenue Sync Mapping page
In PS, “Restaurant - Liquor” will be tied to a GL account, which is then mapped to a driver in HE.
In the same vein, Banquet Room Rental, Banquet Setup Fee, and AV Rental could also be tied to a single GL account in PS, which would then be mapped to a driver in HE.
