There are a myriad of hotel labor tools with a wide variety of data in Hotel Effectiveness PerfectLabor™. For new hotels, jumping into our system can be a little daunting. With that in mind, we have a new onboarding approach—Simple Start—for hotels implementing PerfectLabor.
Consisting of three phases, each with its own clearly defined goals and activities, Simple Start streamlines the user interface so new hotels can begin using PerfectLabor immediately. Additional tools and data are layered in as hotels progress through the phases. Simple Start also minimize the stress of having to learn every facet of a new system from the outset.
If your hotel has already completed implementation in Hotel Effectiveness, there is no need to go through Simple Start and the hotel should have been set to Phase 4 to access the full accompaniment of our tools and reports.
Phase 1 - Create Schedules Online
The initial phase of Simple Start emphasizes the use of Hotel Effectiveness Scheduler in a simplified format. In this phase, labor plans and forecast are hidden from the Scheduler so that your managers can focus on creating the schedules in Hotel Effectiveness.
Phase 2 - Communicate Schedules with MyHotelTeam
The second phase focuses on communicating the schedule to your associates via MyHotelTeam, our mobile app and web portal for hotel employees.
This phase has the same user interface as Phase One, so no labor plans or forecasts can be seen in the Scheduler.
Phase 3 - Schedule with Labor Standards
The third phase introduces the concept of Labor Plans. Labor Plans are a collection of the labor standards for every position in your hotel. They serve as the staffing guidelines for your property and are used in many parts of PerfectLabor - including the Scheduler.
This phase adds labor plans and the forecast into the Scheduler.
Phase 4 - Monitor Ongoing Labor Costs
Phase 4 is "business as usual ". It indicates that a hotel is fully set up in Hotel Effectiveness and ready to use all components of PerfectLabor to monitor ongoing labor costs.
If your hotel is out of implementation (in other words, the hotel has completed Phase 1-3 milestones), it should be set to Phase 4.
Pro Tip
Simple Start onboarding phases can be controlled by users with access to hotel settings.
1. Hover over your username on the top right in Hotel Effectiveness.
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Hover over Hotel Information on the top menu.
4. Select Simple Start Hotel Phase Manager from the dropdown.
5. Select the desired hotel group from the dropdown.
6. Click on the pen icon to edit the phase.
7. Click Save to save your edit.
Hotel View Home Page Widgets
If a hotel is set to any of the first three phases of Simple Start, a card displaying its onboarding status will appear on the Hotel View Home Page of all hotel users.
When a hotel is set to Phase 4, the Simple Start widget will be removed from the Hotel View Home Page and the My Daily Tasks widget will appear in the top left of the page.
