Housekeeping Clean Types are the types of cleans your room attendant can engage in while working at the hotel. Housekeeping Clean Types are used in labor plan standards to set minutes per room (MPR) goals.
Your night auditor or housekeeping manager will input the number of rooms by Clean Type for each room attendant. Most hotels choose to set up Clean Types for stayover rooms and check-out rooms. You can set up more detailed Clean Types (e.g. Corner Suite Check-outs, Deep Cleans, DND Rooms etc.) or you can set up just one generic Clean Type (e.g. Rooms Cleaned).

Once you access the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup page under the Standards/Business Drivers section in Settings, you can set up and review your cleans for each hotel on the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup page.
Select the blue Add New Clean Type >> link to add a new clean type. Select Edit >> in the table to edit an existing clean type.
Note: There is no limit to the number of active clean types allowed.
Add a New Clean Type
When you select Add New Clean Type >> on the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup page, the resulting pop up gives you two options:
- Select an Account Clean Type - choose this option to add a clean type to this hotel that is already added to your account list.
- Add a Custom Clean Type - choose this option a add a new custom clean type.
Add a Custom Clean Type
When entering a new Custom Clean Type, you'll need to input the Clean Name and Category (optional).
- Clean Type Name - Custom to what type of clean you are adding.
Category - Optional, allows you group your clean types for sorting purposes. - Start Date - leave as the default range unless you don't want this item to show up historically.
- Save once you're done.
Once this is done, the night auditor can begin entering numbers for that clean type, and you can base a plan on it in Plan Manager.
Any custom clean types added here will appear for the selected hotel and on the Housekeeping Clean Type - Account list.
Add Clean Types to the Account Page
If preferred, you can preemptively add the clean types you want to use at all hotels on the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup - Account page. Any cleans on the Account page can be added to each hotel quickly when selecting Add New Clean Type >> on the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup page.
On the Housekeeping Clean - Account page there are two ways to add new clean types when selecting Add New Clean Type >> on the Housekeeping Clean Type Setup page:
- Select a Pre-Built Clean Type from our system list
- Add a Custom Clean Type
Once a clean type is available on the Account list, it still needs to be added to the Hotel. From the main Housekeeping Clean Type page, we can assign clean types to hotels for the auditor to enter and for managers to base room attendant plans on.
