Having relevant, useful labor standards are key to measuring performance in Hotel Effectiveness. When inputting and editing standards, managers can always edit plans for each position in the hotel, or copy standards from other hotels, but our system also allows you to quickly Convert Annual Budgets with standards for salaried positions, and CPOR- or MPR-based roles with a few clicks.
After accessing the "Labor Plan" tab, hover over 'Edit Labor Standards' in the blue menu and select "Build Labor Standards".
Here you can select one of three items.
- Copy from Templates/Existing Hotel
- Copying plans from templates or an existing hotel is typically done for a new property.
- Convert Annual Budgets
- Choosing to Convert Annual Budgets allows you to quickly input salaried roles, and CPOR and MPR details for each position. Details below on this method.
- Add manually by Positions
- This option allows you to edit the plan for any single position at a time.
Option 3 is more common for existing hotels, while hotels new to Hotel Effectiveness will likely choose option 1 or 2.
Convert Annual Budgets
When you choose to Convert Annual Budgets, the system displays a breakout of how many of the active positions have standards and four steps to input your budget.
Already have standards you wish to term before you add new labor plan standards?
Step 1 allows the user to quickly identify and build standards for salaried roles.
Step 2 allows the user to input the overall minutes per room (MPR) goals for 3 standard room clean types (Stayover, Checkout, and Deep Clean).
Step 3 allows the user to easily build standards for roles that are based on cost per occupied room (CPOR). The system requires input of the full year budget for rooms sold and budget for the position as well as the average wage for each position. Using this data, the system calculates the standards for the position.
Step 4 allows the user to manually input all other standards for each remaining position.
When setting up a new hotel or updating an existing one, going through these four easy steps will allow the user to quickly establish standards for every position.
