Night Audit Entry is a big part of your success with Hotel Effectiveness. Night Audit Entry is where your hotel operational details are input and stored. This includes rooms sold, rooms revenue, housekeeping cleans, and any other revenue items you would like to collect.
There are two ways for our system to obtain your operational data:
- Manual Night Audit Entry by your auditor or other managers; or
- RevSync with your property management system.
RevSync enables FOSSE to send your operational information to our system overnightautomatically. Automating Night Audit Entry ensures your operational data is always up-to-date.
In FOSSE, there is a Daily Closing Report. You will need to set up an email in FOSSE to send this report to Hotel Effectiveness
automatically
each night. This report needs to be configured as a .txt file.
To find the Daily Closing Report, log in to FOSSE; from the main screen, select the followingitems in the order listed:
- Audit
- Report Spooler Log
- E = Email Pack
- Enter Login ID and Password
- Arrow Down to the next available line to create a new email set by entering HOTEL as a code; press Enter, then add HOTEL EFFECTIVENESS as a description; press F10 to save
- Arrow down back to the newly created email list, then F5 to select
- M to add our email address edi@hoteleffectiveness.com
- L for List Email Pack
- Enter NADLYCLS for the Daily Closing Report; select F10 to save; then Enter to exit.
Once set, we will monitor to ensure we are receiving the report for your property. Once we are able to confirm it is flowing in consistently, we will initialize the Chart of Accounts and complete basic mapping (i.e., rooms revenue, rooms available, rooms sold).
Once setup is complete, Night Audit Entry will update to match the file for each mapped item. You can use the details entered here for revenue reporting and labor standards. Properties will still need to enter Housekeeping details in Night Audit Entry so your labor standards build correctly.
Pro Tip:
If a manager edits the numbers in Night Audit Entry, our system will save the manageredits. If FOSSE sends us another email with details for the same date, Night Audit Entrywill overwrite whatever is present for that day (including manual edits). Basically, oursystem takes the most recent update, whether it's the file from FOSSE or a manual edit.
